The department of General Surgery perform surgeries 24x7. General Surgery Department provides general and specialized surgical services to patient suffering from wide range of natural and developed conditions. The department of surgery will provide sympathetic and high class patient care, train future generations of surgical leader and conduct research in a mutual environment which embraces range and promotes completeness.

Services

Medical services provided by the surgery department are:

  • To provide outdoor and indoor facilities for poor and needy patients free of cost throughout the year
  • To provide services to the prisoner in Jail THQ Hospital Sadiqabad, Condemned Prisoners/ under trial prisoners at their door step and perform surgery where  indicated after a referral at THQ Hospital Sadiqabad
  • To provide the services in Trauma center
  • Do Surgeries in case of emergency surgeries like acute appendicitis, Obstle Hernia, Acute Instinal Obstruction and perforation
  • Performing elective surgical procedure

Standard Operative Procedures (SOPs)

Following are the standard operative procedures:

  • Signing declaring the OT as restricted area and identification of person allowed in the OT
  • Sterilization and identification of sterilized OT equipment
  • Separation and transport of dirty linen
  • Pre-operative assessment and instructions
  • Routine equipment checks and preparation
  • Annual review of functioning equipment in line with the service offered by the OT
  • Transportation of clients/patient from the ward to the OT and back
  • Transferring of patient onto a stretcher/chair from within the OT and not allowing a stretcher/chair from outside into the OT
  • Admission to the operation department
  • Identification of clients/patients
  • Identification of operation site
  • Recovery
  • Inoculation injury
  • Staff protection against exhaust from anesthetic gases
